Welcome to the world of the Cottey College Class of 1976.

For those of you visiting for the first time, Cottey College is a two-year independent junior college for women located in Nevada (pronounced Neh vay' dah), Missouri . The college was founded in 1884 by Virginia Alice Cottey and has been in continuous operation ever since. In 1927 it was given to the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a 130-year old women's organization dedicated to promoting and providing educational opportunities for women.

The women on these pages attended during the school years of 1974-1976. During the past 25 years, our classmates have distinguished themselves in many ways. We have lived and worked all over the world. We have raised families. We have taught school. We have gone into the military and the ministry. We are doctors, engineers, lawyers, farmers, programmers, executives, and, most of all, we are happy. We learned things at Cottey College that helped us survive through the bad times and flourish during the good times. We are Cottey sisters.

There are lots of new Founder's 2001 photos up on the Photo Gallery page and the class photo, with names, is on the Reunion 2001 page. We still need more photos, songs, personal recollections, alumnae accomplishments, graphics, and help putting the site together. For now, you can send them to me at Marcia (Snider) Schoonover. Let me know if you would like to help build the site and I'll e-mail you the password and instructions for using the iVillage web site builder.

Fellow Cottey College classmates are invited to join our e-group
where you will find photos, databases, chat, and a message board.
(Membership in this group is restricted to alumnae of Cottey College.)
